Blackpool Pleasure Beach is the UK’s biggest amusement park, with attractions dating back as early as 1904 still in operation today. Founded in 1896, the park is operated by the Thompson family, with Amanda Thompson currently directing the park. Blackpool Pleasure Beach has had a long and fascinating past – with many changes along the way. During 1994 the park took the world record for the world’s tallest roller coaster with The Big One, more commonly known as “The Pepsi Max Big One” to many – taking the record away from Magnum XL200 located at Cedar Point, Ohio. The park also features the UK’s first double launch roller coaster, and 4 wooden coasters suitable for all ages; for those looking for something a bit more relaxed, you can soar above the Pleasure Beach in your own rocket on Flying Machines, or gallop on the Derby Racer. Blackpool Pleasure Beach features it’s won radio within the park providing a fantastic atmosphere for all inside. Unlike conventional theme/amusement parks, the park operates a discounted £6 ticket for non-riders, which also allows access to the Pleasure Beach express railway, the Chinese puzzle maze and the dancing fountain show daily.
