Why Epcot is One of My Favourite Theme Parks

When you think of theme or amusement parks, you think of the biggest, tallest, fastest rides possible at the park in question, right?

Well today, I’m going to talk about why Walt Disney World’s Epcot, and more so World Showcase is one of my favourite theme park experiences I’ve ever been fortunate enough to have.

As many of you know Epcot is a very different place to how Walt Disney imagined it, however that doesn’t take away just how much of a unique experience this park is, with the top area consisting of a variety of excellent pavilions and attractions, such as Test Track and Soarin’ around the world or The Sea’s with Nemo and Friends. These pavilions also offer their own unique feel, whether you want to explore a huge aquarium, or learn about the land around you.

A trip to Epcot is certainly educational (In a fun way!) – and this is no more obvious than in World Showcase.

Epcot’s World Showcase consists of 11 countries:

  • USA
  • Japan
  • Morocco
  • France
  • United Kingdom
  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Norway
  • China
  • Germany

Every country in World Showcase has it’s own unique setting, as well as authentic retail, food and drink and entertainment on offer.

Why I love World Showcase

With so many unique experiences on offer you’ll never be short of trying something new! Fancy an authentic Italian pizza? Head to Italy! How about desert in France? a 3 course meal in Mexico? Choices are endless. Of course, for the character fans there is plenty of characters still about, all in their applicable countries, such as Mulan in China, or Belle in France.

World Showcase is an experience that needs to be seen to be believed – especially during one of the many festivals Epcot has to offer, whether that be Food & Wine or Flower & Garden to name a few.

Of course as the day progresses and the sunsets over Epcot the day isn’t finished here: “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth” the park’s spectacular night time show closes out with a dazzling display of pyrotechnics and special effects to create one of the most memorable night time shows I’ve ever seen, rounded out by the beautiful song “Promise” as you depart the park in the evening.

A day at Epcot is unlike a theme park anywhere else, and while you certainly will want to mix your visit up at Walt Disney World and take in all the parks there (And do so, they all have their own unique charms) – do not pass up on spending an equal amount of time at Epcot. You certainly won’t regret it!
